It's been ages since I posted on here. I can't believe it's been more than six months, though! Crazy! It doesn't seem like it's been that long. I was expecting my last post date to be October, not August! Oh well. I guess I've continued to be busy and time has slipped by. Not that I haven't enjoyed the time. So much has happened!! Ian's another year older, our baby girl started preschool and turned four, the kids went trick-or-treating (and by kids I mean CariAnn, Spencer and Ian), and we celebrated a very merry Christmas at home. We rang in the new year and CariAnn stayed up to celebrate with us, and I too have turned another year older. I haven't taken for granted the time that has passed by, but have enjoyed it and kind of let this blog slip.
Lately what has been on my mind is my weight. I'm thinking of starting a journal - which I will eventually scrapbook - about my weigh loss challenge - or rather, my success in changing my lifestyle to a healthier one. This past month I have lost 5lbs without actively trying. I haven't been on the Wii as much as anticipated, and I haven't stopped eating bad foods. I have however, been eating healthier, more-balanced meals. It feels great, and I think instead of focussing so much on losing weight, I should focus on eating healthier. Turning it into a scrapbook project also gives me a secondary reason - I love scrapbooking! Why not scrapbook my own story!? I'm always making books for others, why not make one just for me, about me? So that is the goal.
Of course, I have a healthy weight in mind. My first goal is to qualify for life insurance. Yes, life insurance. We recently had to re-apply since my husband's workplace was taken over by a new company and they refused my application for life insurance because of my weight. I don't just need to lose 5lbs, I need to lose 60lbs! After that goal is met, I will continue to lose an additional 50lbs to meet my goal weight. To be honest, at this point, I would just like to get down a total of 90, but 110 would put me in an ideal place on the BMI charts. I have since looked into some options for Alberta Health -supported weight loss programs and find most of them take place in Edmonton. Next on my list is to talk to my doctor to ask for help. Whether it's just checking in on a regular basis, or if he knows a program to refer me to. If I have someone to answer to (other than me - because I'm too nice and understanding), I do better. So life insurance, here I come!
Tomorrow is a new day. A good day to hop on the Wii and break out a sweat! ...and the first page of my new scrapbook! :)
